I have no idea why USCIS gave that reason. Actually, my company's attorney told that "USCIS denied H1B, because i don't have Computers background and am working as a Programmer Analyst".
That's all i know at this moment. I don't know whom to trust at this point.
There should have been an evaluation of your degree by some "expert" here certifying that your degree is equivalent to a 4-year degree in CS here. I remember my first H1 petition had such an attachment.
Check with your lawyers quickly. Also, do whatever you can to protect your status. If you get some illegal status on your records now, it will be a nightmare when you apply for a GC. Then they will check all your entry/exit dates.

looks like they will make us wait till 17th and accept/reject case from July 2nd...and most of the rejected cases might not be eligible to refile :mad:...this is my guess!

Many of us came here because an American University admitted us and sent us invitation (aka I20) to attend the program and many are working here because american companies invited us and sponsored our work documents and pays us very well at par with other knowledge workers. The company and industry we work in, needs our skills (even in this recession) and that's why we are here.

Stephen Colbert on comedy central has turned out to be one of the most influential persons in the media. Along with Jon Stewart, Stephen is supposed to be one of the influencers of young minds for the last congressional elections.
I am not sure if he has really taken any stance on legal immigration. I am confident that it is favorable.
A question is whether IV has really approached Stephen. Lately, I saw Jack Welch on the show. Apparently, every congressmen who appeared on Colbert's show has won the last election.

I am damn sure that a lot of law makers (or their staff) enjoy Stephen's antics.
Stephen Colbert CERTAINLY is one of the most influential people in American Media. Especially after he made fun of Bush in front of him at White House Correspondents Dinner.
Man if we (all members of IV) can kick start a debate on legal immigration and direct the debate in a manner that Sen Sessions can be brought to spotlight for his inconsistencies, it would be a major achievement for us. Colbert has been extremely vital in shaping public opinion for democrats this November!

It goes to the FBI database. They do an extensive backgroud check on you for upto 7 years. They go verify your background in your home country too. If you remember they would have asked you to fill up a biographic information form along with the fingerprinting.
I have submited my FP all 10 fingers when I was working for my past employer which was a financial company dealing in Credit Cards business. They collect it when they issue badge as part of security and its a federal requirement for financial company. I am not sure if they maintain it internally or send it to FBI for storage does any one have any info?

Here is an additional few things that the IV Core could do to ease the PAIN of the several individuals (not the GC pain, the mailing out of the letters pain)
1) Arrange a door to door bus service to pick up the letters from people.
State chapters: CHOP CHOP what are u waiting for, lets get those buses moving!
2) While they are at it maybe the IV voluneteers can also vacuum people's apartments, wash up their pets, potty train the kids, do the dishes the whole 9 yards.
State chapters: WHY are you still glued to ur rears, where is my own personal volunteer??
3) Since IV has unlimited funding, maybe it can also Overnight FedEx all these letters to the White House.
State chapters: Sigh! (Forget it!)
Hey here's a better idea. Why dont WE copy and paste the template from the thread, personalize it, print and sign 2 copies, find 2 envelopes one big and one smaller put a stamp on each one and mail the whole thing out to IV?
Too much work or too much INERTIA?

We are actually quite close to just doing that in NorCal.
We go to temples, train stations, grocery stores and get our own people to sign the letters!
At these places, we have run into several IV members who say things like: "OH THANK YOU, I have been wanting to write this letter.... now where do I need to sign???"

Check the archives where people have done extensive study on this subject. In a nutshell, it is not a good idea to do multiple 485s. There are risks.

I called once after my PD became current this month, that was last Wednesday (9th). The IO that I spoke to would not give me any information. All she said was "You will hear from us within next 60 days". So I guess it all depends on the IO that you speak to. As for LUDs, I did not get any since my FP.
As for Cross Chargeabilty, I saw a post on a successfull case only yesterday on IV forums. So it actually works. Hope you hear some good news soon.
BTW how did you request CIS to use your spouce's country of birth? Did you send then a letter requesting it? How about requesting an INFOPASS to get their attention?

I have applied for H-1 extension using my I-140 and got an RFE asking for the client letter.The querry was replied on time but now the online status shows that the extension was denied and the reason will me mailed.I spoke to my company and they are ready to appeal once they receive the reason for the denial.I was on-job for all the 5 years of my stay in US and working for the same employer and client for the past four and half years.Not sure the reason of denial as of now. Now that my Visa and I-94 expired on March'31 2009 how long can I stay while the appeal is the process and what are the
other options left for me?

No point worrying over past. Go ahed and file a AR11 ASAP to make sure from now on USCIS has your updated address. In case in future this becomes an issue then contact a lawyer and try to resolve it.
But moving forward all non immigrants as well as GC holders should make sure they do not miss this important obligation to inform USCIS within 10 days of move. It is easy process and saves lots of trouble later on.

China for instance has been in and out. In 1999 it was its own column, became part of ROW in 2002 and now again has its own column:
